Who We Are Looking For
At The Orchard Church, we seek pastors and staff who have a contagious love for Jesus Christ, His church, and the Great Commission. Our team members should bring skills, abilities, and support to the church that would not be present in their absence.
We are looking for individuals who have a hunger to work within our values of being:
• Biblical – Holding firmly to the truth of Scripture in all we do.
• Committed – Dedicated to building up the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, focusing on what is important to God, having proper motives for growth, and understanding the urgency of the times.

• Sacrificial – Willing to do whatever it takes to reach people for Christ, maintaining an outward focus, fervent evangelism, and a willingness to pay the price.

Our staff should have a hunger to learn, a willingness to work in collaborative environments, and the ability to adapt to the fast pace and changes that come with consistent growth. Self-motivation and the ability to motivate othersare key, as we strive to equip the members of our church to serve the body of Christ in accordance with Ephesians 4:11-12.
Above all, every pastor and staff member at The Orchard Church must be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and have a strong, maturing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Hiring Process
At The Orchard Church, we believe that who we hire shapes the impact of our ministry. Our team is made up of people who love Jesus, serve with passion, and are committed to seeing lives transformed. If you’re interested in joining us, here’s what you can expect in the hiring process:
• Job Posted: Open positions are posted, and resumes are collected.
• Admin Roles: Resumes accepted for 2-4 weeks.
• Pastoral Roles: Resumes accepted for 4-8 weeks.
• Candidates are sent an application—those who do not respond are removed from consideration.
• Candidates complete a questionnaire:
• Admin Roles: Biblical and Operational Questionnaire.
• Pastoral Roles: Biblical and Situational Questionnaire.
• For Pastoral Roles Only: Candidates must also submit a video of their preaching/speaking.
• First-round interviews:
• Admin Roles: Interview with Pastor Josh & an HR team member.
• Pastoral Roles: Interview with a ministerial staff member & HR team (e.g., Pastor Justin for a Student Life Pastor candidate).
• Candidates are culled down to three or fewer for the next stage.
• PLACE Assessment:
• Candidates complete a PLACE profile with Jay McSwain.
• For Executive Assistant roles: Pastor Stephen’s PLACE profile is reviewed to ensure alignment.
• Reference Checks:
• Professional references are contacted to verify work history and job performance.
• Personal references are contacted to assess character and work ethic.
• Second Interview:
• Admin Roles: Conducted by Pastor Stephen & another staff member.
• Pastoral Roles: Conducted one candidate at a time, with Pastor Stephen & Pastor Josh.
• Pastoral Roles Only:
• HR team interview conducted.
• Candidate visits the church to meet staff and participate in a Q&A session.
• Final candidate selected, and a preliminary offer is extended.
• Contract Signed: Upon acceptance of the offer, employment is finalized.
• Onboarding Process:
• Workspace setup (computer, tools, welcome materials).
• Orientation with staff & pastoral team.
• Training on job responsibilities, church processes, and key software.
• For Executive Assistants: Shadowing another EA
• Mentorship assigned to support transition into the role.
